BROWNFIELDS JOB TRAINING COOPERATIVE AGREEMENTS

CLEAN WATER STATE REVOLVING FUND - Water Quality Management Planning Grants

Description:  Assist with the development and implementation of area-wide water quality management planning activities. 

Funding Mechanism:  Funding equals 1% of Clean Water Revolving Loan Fund Allotment. Of the $1,070,200 allocation, $642,120 (60%) is being used for water quality planning projects that are being initiated by DNR's Bureau of Watershed Management, whereas $428,080 (40%) is being passed through to local organizations and agencies to conduct local water quality planning projects.

COASTAL HABITAT RESTORATION GRANTS

Description:  Provides funding through NOAA's Office of Habitat Conservation for coastal habitat restoration projects (including Great Lakes projects) that will result in significant ecological gains, fuel the economy, and that are ready for implementation. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to restoring degraded habitats, green infrastructure to protect coastal communities, and adaptation to climate change.

DIESEL EMMISSION REDUCTION - National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program

REPAIR ICE AGE TRAIL

Description:  The maintenance work to be accomplished on three segments of the Ice Age NST is a continuation of the long-term stewardship of the trail by the volunteers of the Ice Age Park and Trail Foundation. The purpose is to repair and replace trail structures (bridges, boardwalks) that have deteriorated and become unsafe, and to provide a quality experience to those who use the trail.

Funding Mechanism:  The Ice Age Park and Trail Foundation staff and volunteers are uniquely qualified to do this work. Volunteer support and cost-sharing are involved in the work to be accomplished. The Foundation staff and volunteers have important technical expertise in trail and trail structures design and construction.

USDA NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICE - Watershed and Flood Prevention

APPLICATION PERIOD CLOSED.

Description:  Provides funding for Watershed and Flood Prevention Operations, including expenses to purchase and restore floodplain easements. NRCS may purchase easements on floodplain lands that meet program criteria. Purchases are based upon established priorities. The easement provides NRCS with the authority to restore and enhance the floodplain's functions and values. Landowners retain several rights to the property, including quiet enjoyment, the right to control public access, and the right to undeveloped recreational use such as hunting and fishing.

USDA NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICE - Watershed Rehabilitation Program

Description:  Provides funding for the Watershed Rehabilitation Program. The program provides cost sharing for rehabilitating watershed dams that were funded under the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Program.

Funding Mechanism:  USDA allocates funds to states following a national ranking of submitted projects. Priority will be given to projects that are ready to be constructed and those that have the greatest risk of potential loss of life if the dam were to fail.

USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT - Water and Waste Disposal

Description:  Provides funding for direct loans and grants to improve rural community water, sewer and waste water, and solid waste disposal programs.

Funding Mechanism:  Formula allocation for the state. The service area must be under 10,000 in population. Grants may be available if the median household income at or below $46,632 if needed to reduce annual costs of the system similar to what comparable communities are paying. Recovery funds for this program have not been released by yet by USDA. That should occur soon. If you have not submitted projects for this program and have not yet done so you should contact WI Rural Development. There are non recovery funds available. Contact the Wisconsin Rural Development office for details. Wisconsin rural development will receive a state allocation of the national total. Check with the state Rural Development office for details by email RD.BCP.SO@wi.usda.gov.
